Job Description : The purpose of this classification is to fulfill the duties as set forth in Code of Alabama Section 11-44B-11(a) (1975) and elsewhere in the Code of Alabama where duties are assigned or responsibilities are given to the City Clerk to include managing municipal elections and to serve in an administrative capacity to the Mayor and Council, attend and record all meetings of the City Council, and serve as the official custodian of City records to include preparing, reproducing, publishing, and preserving vital, historical, and permanent records. This classification also serves as the City's public information officer and election official and analyzes and makes recommendations concerning the City's budgets. Maintains a positive representation of the City of Roanoke, at all times, in writing and when speaking with members of the community and / or other city employees.
