Position Summary :
Performs diagnostic radiographic services, provides patient care and assessment. Evaluates images in accordance with professional practice standards. Participates in quality assurance activities and maintains appropriate credentials related to clinical practice.
Position Accountabilities :
Collects pertinent data about the patient and procedure to provide appropriate imaging services that meet the radiologists standardsConfirms patient identification and pregnancy status when appropriatePerforms diagnostic radiographic exam using professional judgement and discretionDetermines appropriate shielding devices or other accessory equipmentAdministers first aid or provides life support in emergency situationsMonitors the patient's physical and mental state during the procedureOperates imaging equipment / devices, performs accurate patient positioning, and calculates correct exposure factorsDocuments patient data, procedures, and relevant information as determined by practice standardsEvaluates radiographs for technical image qualityProduces additional images as needed to provide appropriate outcomePerforms and documents quality assurance activities based on established quality protocolsProvides health care services with respect for patient's dignity and age-specific needsAdheres to accepted standards, policies, and procedures adopted by the profession and regulated by lawMaintains patient confidentialityMaintains appropriate credentials, continuing education, and certification related to clinical practicePerforms other duties as assigned or requestedJob Specifications :
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of Radiologic Technology program accredited by the JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology)Certification by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)1 year of X-Ray Tech experience preferredWorking Conditions / Physical Demands
