Your Role on the Team

Position Summary :

As part of the UCI Health System, incumbent is part of the team responsible for managing the budgeting, financial planning, and operational finance for Ambulatory Services departments. Responsible for development of Ambulatory Care budget, benchmarking, productivity metrics, service line analysis, management reporting, and data extract. Develops information and modeling to create effective recommendations for ambulatory operations to supervision / management. Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of ambulatory revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures. Works with Ambulatory cost center leaders to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies in outpatient settings; utilizes project management skills to prioritize and implement tools, processes, and other initiatives; establishes metrics and benchmarks to measure progress and success. Incumbent reviews internal and external trend analyses specific to ambulatory services and effectively identifies corrective measures as needed. Provides for the measurement and benchmarking of ambulatory business operations in relation to best business practices for the healthcare industry and internal ambulatory business objectives.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications :

• Working knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies (per diem, per case, capitation, indemnity, etc.)
• Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff and senior management
• Five (5) years of experience in a hospital-based environment working with general ledger and cost data as well as service line and payor analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically
• Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
• Demonstrated knowledge of Decision Support Systems and subsystems
• Demonstrated advanced level of analytical skill
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to anticipate questions and address information needs by providing comprehensive analyses
