Job Title : CT Technologist

Location : Iowa City VA Health Care System (IC VAHCS) 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246

Certifications Required :

  • Certified in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Clinical Schedule :

  • Shifts : Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM.
  • Shift Duration : CT technologists will work eight-hour shifts, with possible start times ranging from 7 : 00 AM to 9 : 00 AM.

    • Off-hours Coverage :

  • The CT technologist(s) must be available on-call at all times outside of normal clinic hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • On-call technologists must be reachable by telephone at all times and able to arrive on-site within 60 minutes of completed notification.

    • Scope of Care :

  • The CT technologist(s) will provide a range of CT procedures and perform routine CT technologist duties.
  • Expected to provide care that meets or exceeds the quality standards of a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility, adhering to nationally recognized standards.

    • Direct Patient Care :

  • Approximately 95% of time will be dedicated to direct patient care, ensuring a high level of interaction and service to patients.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Perform diagnostic CT scans according to the prescribed specifications.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to interpret scan results and determine necessary follow-up.
  • Manage and respond to on-call situations promptly and effectively.

  • Proven experience as a CT Technologist.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
