Full Stack Developer

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) seeks a Full Stack Developer to support the ongoing maintenance modernization and enhancement of the eSHARE system a centralized data capture and reporting platform that supports HIV-related programs funded under Ryan White Prevention Testing Housing and Clinical operations.

The Full Stack Developer will work across all layers of the technology stack to design build and maintain secure scalable and efficient web applications. This individual will collaborate with front-end developers database engineers and health data analysts to deliver robust technical solutions that meet DOHMHs evolving public health data needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Development - Design develop and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using HTML5 CSS3 and JavaScript.
• API Development - Build and integrate RESTful APIs for secure and efficient data exchange between system modules and external partners.
• Database Integration - Develop and maintain SQL queries stored procedures and data models supporting transactional and reporting operations.
• Security & Compliance - Implement authentication authorization and encryption mechanisms to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other public health data protection standards.
• Cloud & Containerization - Deploy and maintain services on Azure or AWS cloud platforms using Docker containers and CI / CD pipelines.
• Performance Optimization - Diagnose and resolve application performance bottlenecks conduct SQL query tuning and ensure high availability.
• Testing & Documentation - Participate in unit and integration testing troubleshoot issues across environments and maintain clear technical documentation for all application components.
• Collaboration - Work closely with UI / UX teams system architects and health program leads to ensure seamless functionality and data accuracy across the eSHARE ecosystem.
