Surgery - Thoracic Physician

Cross Country Locums is seeking a Board-Certified Cardio Thoracic Surgeon to help with an ongoing coverage need in Sioux City IA. Please review the details below.

• Long term coverage until perm is hired - must be available at least 10 days / month
• 24 hour coverage + inpatient rounds
• call coverage + inpatient rounds
• Hospital setting
• About 1 case per day + potential emergencies
• Locum will have their own APP M-F 8a-4p but will be responsible for rounding on the weekends when APPs are not on site
• Trauma level 2
• Annual ER volume 30,000 or 80 per day
• 2 dedicated CVOR rooms, dedicated CVOR team, dedicated APP to manage inpatients and clinic follow ups, dedicated clinic nurse
• EMR : Cerner
• Patient demographic : adult
• Provider working solo
• Typical / Required Procedures : Adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, Coronary artery bypass surgery, CABG, tube thoacostomy, pericardial window, tracheostomy, thoracic aortic aneurysms, thoracoabdominal aneurysms, thoracotomy lung biopsy, thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy.
• Must be able to meet emergency cardiothoracic surgery needs. Able to transfer out if need arises. Any elective cases could potentially wait until perm physician returns from PTO. Do have local vascular surgeons who take call and handle all vascular surgery needs.
• Temp privs available.

Pay Rate - $225 / hr

Travel covered, A Malpractice Insurance provided.
