CNC Manufacturing Engineer – Up to $150K Direct Hire | Onsite | Greater Hartford, CT area Our client, a fast-growing manufacturer known for precision, innovation, and a strong commitment to quality, is seeking a skilled CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will lead process development, optimize multi-axis CNC machining, and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. What You’ll Do Develop and refine CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixturing, and programming for multi-axis equipment. Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD / CAM software and simulation tools. Analyze workflows to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste. Partner with design engineering to provide DFM feedback and support new product introduction. Troubleshoot complex machining issues and lead root-cause investigations. Evaluate and recommend CNC machines, tooling, and technology upgrades. Maintain clear process documentation, including work instructions and setup sheets. Train and mentor operators on best practices, setups, and quality standards. Support Lean / CI initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma activities. Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. What We’re Looking For Required : 5+ years of CNC machining and process engineering experience. Strong CNC programming, setup, and hands-on troubleshooting skills, including probe and macro programming. Proficiency with CAD / CAM platforms (SolidWorks, Esprit, NX, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g., Vericut). Expertise with multi-axis machining—3, 4, 5-axis mills and mill-turn lathes. Solid understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), blueprint reading, and common metrology systems. Experience with Lean principles and process optimization. Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. PC-DMIS CMM programming or automation experience. Background in firearms manufacturing. Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems (Epicor preferred). Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, AS9100, or ISO 9001 experience. Why This Role?
