The Senior HR Generalist will provide comprehensive Human Resources support for the Plaquemine facility across key areas, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance. This role will contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, serving as a strategic partner and trusted liaison between employees, managers, and the HR function. The Senior HR Generalist will cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with site leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and corporate expectations. This position reports directly to the HR Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, day-to-day HR partnership to site leaders and employees, delivering strategic support across staffing, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
- Lead and / or provide high-level support on critical HR initiatives, projects, and change-management efforts that impact site operations and corporate alignment.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment activities in partnership with Corporate Recruitment, including managing the internal posting process, proactively sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and guiding selection decisions. Ensure ATS accuracy through ongoing data maintenance, reporting, and collaboration with SMEs.
- Build, strengthen, and sustain strategic partnerships with industry organizations, local colleges / universities, workforce development entities, and community groups to support long-term talent pipeline development.
- Lead campus recruitment efforts locally, including planning, coordination, branding, relationship management, and candidate experience oversight.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and site leadership to ensure consistent implementation, communication, and reinforcement of HR policies, procedures, programs, and company initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted HR resource and advisor to managers, supervisors, and administrators by providing expert guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation, and workforce management.
- Develop, analyze, and present HR metrics and reports-including turnover, diversity, retention, and staffing insights-to inform decision-making for monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
- Apply strong critical-thinking skills and sound judgment to assess and resolve complex HR issues, balancing employee needs with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Administer and oversee advanced HR transactions such as job / compensation changes, investigations, corrective action processes, unemployment claims, and records management while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
Qualifications
EDUCATION :
Bachelor's Degree - is required. A degree in Human Resources is preferred.EXPERIENCE :
5+ Years - Experience in a Human Resources role with progressive responsibility and 1-2 years of experience in full life cycle recruiting.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS :
PHR - or SPHR preferred but not required.SHRM-CP - or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :
