JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist, implements progressive rehabilitation programs for patients in their homes in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and the patient’s needs.
- Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the agency.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.Constant : reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm / hand motion and frequent gripping of objects, lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, pushing / pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of forceFrequent : standing, walking, stooping / bending, and twisting body.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
Subjected to adverse environmental conditions like continuous exposure to blood borne pathogens.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
Current Hawaii State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.Valid U.S driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance as required by Hawaii State Law.Driver’s abstract or evidence of good driving record.Current BLS certification.B. EXPERIENCE :
Knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice to treat patients.Knowledge and use of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and the public.Ability to operate various office equipment such as computers, calculator, copier facsimile, and shredder.Skills in problem identification and resolution.
