Summary

As a Paramedic, you will function as an emergency response medical professional, providing immediate medical care to those impacted by accidents, violence, and critical health issues such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will deliver advanced life support care both before and during transport to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Document comprehensive patient assessments and treatments using charting software.
• Provide care in medical, traumatic, and psychiatric crises.
• Work collaboratively as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to various calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment, such as defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to establish priorities in medical procedures.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions, driving and operating emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications via injected, intravenous, or oral routes as directed by medical personnel.
• Communicate with hospital personnel for further treatment instructions.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the ambulance, following infection control protocols.

Physical Demands :

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. This role requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
