Synagogue Assistant (Per Diem)

SUMMARY : Providing spiritual and religious support to residents / patients during the Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.

Reports To : Director, Pastoral Services

Hours Per Week : Per Diem

DUTIES

Essential Responsibilities :

1.Assist in leading Synagogue services for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.

2.Conduct religious programming for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays for all residents / patients.

3.Provide pastoral visits and counseling for residents / patients.

4.Assist Director of Pastoral Services in providing the spiritual environment appropriate for Sabbath and Jewish holidays.

5.Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor of Arts or Sciences

Experience : At least 3 years of experience in Jewish communal service

Licensure : Valid driver's license

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

Knowledge of Jewish practices related to Synagogue, dietary laws, and Jewish holidays; to read Hebrew; ability to read communicate effectively including public speaking; ability to meet multiple demands and to perform job requirements on time.
