Summary :

The Instructor will provide augmentation services to the Ordnance Electronics Maintenance Training Department (OEMTD).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions :

  • Conduct classroom / laboratory conference, discussion, demonstration, and practical exercises (PEs) including course introduction, technical information delivery, hardware practical exercises and various forms of computer-assisted instruction in accordance with (IAW) with course material, technical manuals, and student workbooks that are provided.
  • Specific subjects to be taught are dependent upon the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Program of Instructions (POI) Teach all lessons within assigned POI.
  • All instruction shall conform to the principles and concepts contained in the Government approved program of instruction, TRADOC regulation 350-70 and TRADOC regulation 350-6 and shall ensure performance to standards for all stated tasks.
  • Provide Basic Electronics Training (BET) instruction to support Skills Based Training within OEMTD Work alongside Government personnel to provide support for annual Ordnance events such as but not limited to Ordnance Symposium.
  • Provide cross-Training, arranging and engaging in instructional preparation and test, reviewing and providing pen and ink changes to lesson plans.
  • Prepare classroom or training area IAW SOP. Includes ensuring classroom / lab is clean and ready for instruction, sufficient amount of training aids and equipment are available and serviceable, reviewing lesson plans, subject matter material, inserting and removing faults, impairments and problems.
  • Maintain, equipment modifications implantation and update training aids / devices IAW SOP. Some assembly and disassembly of training aids / devices is required to include completing maintenance paperwork and reports concerning equipment support of training and utilization.
  • Conduct daily deliberate risk assessment and annotate risks in the classroom and monitor student performance to ensure steps are taken to mitigate any residual risks.
  • Monitor expendable items in classrooms and laboratories and notify when supplies are at or below prescribed levels.
  • Provide academic counseling as required to include support for students that are waiting on their turn for practical exercise, on-break between classes and returning classrooms / labs to pre-instruction condition.
  • Perform evaluations on student performance and prepare and forward required documentation prior to graduation.
  • Serve as a SME in developing revisions to lesson plans and to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.
  • Develop and update approved lesson materials as required in the specified lesson curriculum.
  • Provide the training on requirements for Initial Entry Training and or professional development training policies as required.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge :

  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of basic electronics, plus an understanding of logistics fundamentals, test measurement and diagnostics equipment (TMDE) operations, and experience in the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of the specified equipment and systems as required.
  • Knowledgeable of all applicable regulations and doctrine regarding military training. US Citizen
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Graduate of the Army Common Faculty Development Instructor Course (CFDIC) within the last 5 years or other service instructor course within the last 5 years.
  • Graduate of the Installation Staff and Contractors Training Course (ISCTC) within the last 3 years.
  • Must have completed the Blackboard Training. Certificate of completion required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years technical experience in electronics repair and one (1) year experience as an instructor or instructor / writer.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped the contractor with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, which is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as experience in teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); supervising or administering a training program; development or review of training / course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; and work in the occupation or subject- matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
  • Shall meet all training, technical and tactical certification of course content, and provide documentation of certification / training. Proficient with MS Office Computer Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Hold active Secret Clearance
  • Graduate of one of the following : 94E Radio Equipment Repairer MOS producing course or have experience as an Electronic Systems Maintainer; 94W MOS Electronic Maintenance Duty Chief as documented with a DD214; 94Z MOS Senior Electronic Maintenance Chief as documented with a DD214; OR 948B Electronic Systems Maintenance Warrant Officer as documented with a DD214.
