Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Senior Accountant's primary role includes supporting the month end close process and quarterly reporting requirements and adherence to Company policies and processes.
This role is based in our Lexington, MA office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office, and 1 day remote.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :
- Performance of monthly general ledger procedures for assigned areas, including processing journal entries, and preparation of supporting schedules, analyses and documentation
- Monthly reconciliation and analysis related to specific balance sheet accounts including, but not limited to cash, investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and expense accruals
- Adhere to established deadlines to ensure a timely close
- Coordinate with other business units to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information
- Assist with monthly / quarterly internal and external reporting requirements and analyses
- Understand and maintain internal control documentation in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") and ensure responsibilities are performed in accordance with appropriate internal control requirements
- Assist in preparation for annual audits and quarterly reviews, including interaction with external and internal auditors
- Actively participate in both system and process improvements by monitoring assigned areas for process improvements to ensure efficiency
- Create and update policies and process documents as needed
- Ad hoc analysis and other special projects as assigned
Qualifications and Experience :
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of experienceBroad knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP)Internal controls (SOX) experienceLife science / biotech industry experience preferredExperience with SAP S4 / Hana preferredStrong systems skills; proficiency with Microsoft ExcelAbility to follow instructions for multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently as well as with other groups across the businessSalary is commensurate with experienceKiniksa Benefits Summary - USAThe expected salary range for Senior Accountant is $100,000 - $109,000 annually. Compensation decisions are based on objective criteria including role responsibilities, experience / qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and external market benchmarks.
