Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of pool-related materials, equipment, and supplies, while maintaining accurate inventory levels to support construction, service, and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, vendor management experience, and a working knowledge of inventory control systems—preferably in the pool or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Source, order, and track materials, parts, and equipment needed for residential and commercial pool construction, service, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure adequate stock levels across warehouse and field operations.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments; verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Monitor usage trends and forecast demand to minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and technicians to ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers; negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
  • Coordinate returns, exchanges, and warranty claims with suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain purchasing and inventory records in ERP or inventory management software.
  • Identify process improvements in procurement and inventory control workflows.

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain roles (construction, pool, or HVAC industry preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Proficient in inventory management systems, Microsoft Excel, and order tracking tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (if warehouse-based)
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs as needed
  • Standing, bending, and walking in a warehouse setting
