Description : Orientation / training is dayshift 8a-4 : 30p Mon-Fri for 2-3 weeks. Includes time in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center.

Position Purpose : The Patient Access Representative is responsible for pre-registration, registration and admission functions in Central Registration at Saint Mary's Hospital.

What You Will Do :

• Perform complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
• Verify insurance requirements, obtain and understand insurance benefits
• Secure signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functions
• Collect or arrange for co-insurance and / or other deposit payment amounts
• Refer self-pay patients to financial counselors; answers patient questions
