Job descriptionActively\nreview ER doctor SOAP notes, surgical techniques, diagnostic decisions,\ntreatment plans, and client communication to ensure quality and consistency. Provide\nconstructive feedback and coaching to support ongoing professional development\nof ER doctors. Attend\nbiweekly ER department manager meetings and contribute to strategic\ndiscussions. Collaborate\nwith the ER Director and leadership team to implement new protocols and\ndepartment initiatives. Research\ncurrent best practices and emerging trends in veterinary emergency medicine. Present\nclinical updates and recommendations to the General Manager and Managing\nVeterinarian ; upon alignment, coordinate with the ER Director to implement\nupdates into practice. Assist in\nthe development, review, and deployment of medical protocols that improve ER\nflow and treatment outcomes. Support the\nonboarding and mentorship of new ER doctors, providing guidance and feedback\nwith direction from General Manager, Managing Veterinarian, and Joint Venture\nPartners. Offer input\nand support in conducting annual performance evaluations for ER doctors. Assist in\nresolving client concerns and complaints related to medical care, in\ncollaboration with General Manager and Managing Veterinarian as needed. Coordinate\nand manage the ER DVM holiday schedule to ensure adequate and fair coverage. Active\nveterinary license in good standing Minimum of 5\nyears of clinical experience in emergency veterinary medicine Prior\nleadership or management experience preferred Strong\ncommunication, mentorship, and organizational skills Commitment\nto continuing education and evidence-based medicine Base salary of $200,000- $250,000 Production-based bonuses Generous sign on bonus Comprehensive benefits : health, dental, and\n liability insurance Generous CE allowance 401k with match Flexible, predictable, consistent schedule

The ER\nMedical Director at Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital plays a pivotal leadership role\nwithin the Emergency Department, responsible for upholding the highest\nstandards of patient care, supporting clinical team development, and\ncontributing to operational efficiency and medical excellence. This role\ninvolves close collaboration with hospital leadership and the joint venture\npartners to ensure the delivery of progressive, gold-standard care while\nfostering a culture of mentorship, accountability, and growth.
