Position Highlights
University Animal Care, at the University of Arizona, is in search of a Veterinarian.
The incumbent reports to the Director and provides preventive health care and clinical veterinary support for a diverse range of laboratory and agricultural species used in research and teaching. Responsibilities include consultation with investigators on animal models, anesthetic and analgesic regimens, and IACUC protocol development and review. The position also contributes to training in animal care and use, veterinary student instruction, and represents the animal care program on relevant university committees. As part of the veterinary leadership team, the incumbent participates in management decisions and supports the university's mission in teaching, research, and service.
University Animal Care (UAC) manages multiple centralized animal facilities at the University of Arizona and oversees the campus wide animal care and use program. UAC provides assistance to scientists, physicians, staff, and students who have received Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval to perform research, testing, or educational studies on animal subjects. UAC ensures humane and appropriate animal care and use by providing for the animals daily needs, veterinary care, and monitoring the use of the animals by principal investigators, technical personnel, and students. UAC is devoted to maintaining a safe environment that minimizes the risk of disease or injury to the animals and the personnel who work with them. UAC maintains accreditation by AAALAC International, the gold standard for animal care and use programs.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
