Assistant Director of Safety

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Safety (or Safety Manager depending on experience) to support a large-scale data center construction project in Moncks Corner SC. This individual will oversee on-site safety efforts and manage a team of 8 direct-report safety professionals. The ideal candidate has proven leadership capabilities in high-volume construction environments and holds the required OSHA certifications. Flexibility to work nights or irregular shifts is required.

Assistant Director of Safety Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 8 on-site safety professionals ensuring consistent enforcement of safety protocols across all shifts
• Oversee and support the implementation of the site-specific health and safety plan for a fast-paced high-profile data center construction project
• Conduct regular site audits inspections and safety walks to proactively identify and correct hazards
• Investigate incidents and near misses lead root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate safety training toolbox talks and compliance education for all field staff and subcontractors
• Maintain all required safety records reports and documentation in accordance with OSHA and company requirements
• Collaborate closely with general contractors subcontractors and project leadership to foster a strong culture of safety and accountability
• Provide on-call or night shift coverage as needed to support 24 / 7 project operations
