Qualifications : Required :
ASN or Nursing Diploma
Wound and / or ostomy care knowledge
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
Preferred :
CWON Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse certification
Minimum of 2 years RN experience
Certifications and Licenses Required :
BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement
Scheduling Requirements :
Day Shift, 7am-3 : 30pm, 8am-4 : 30pm or 9am-5 : 30pm
40 hours per week
Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
Essential Functions :
The Registered Nurse will organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients with complex wounds requiring specialized care and treatment in an inpatient acute care setting.
They will provide nursing care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the department and the State Nurse Practice Act.
They will perform thorough wound assessment and wound care for a variety of acute and chronic wounds in accordance with established protocols, assess patients in the context of wound management, including pain assessment, wound measurement and characteristics.
They will assess underlying etiologies and obtain health history related to the wounds and perform care as directed by the care team.
