Pool Attendant

Reports to : Field Supervisor

Classification : Non-Exempt

Job Description

Summary / Objective

The Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean aquatic recreational area for residents and their guests while ensuring those utilizing the pool follow all rules and safety guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains constant monitoring of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of persons in an emergency.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Skill in the application of lifeguarding, monitoring, and rescue techniques.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Work Environment

    This job operates in outside weather conditions. There may be occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move supplies, up to 25 pounds. Exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Moderate noise level.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically scheduled Tuesday - Sunday, 10 : 00 am to 7 : 00 pm

    Travel

    Travel in this role is minimal.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. 6 months to 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    2. CPR Certified.

    3. Up-to-date Lifeguard certifications.
