Job description

Job Summary :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an acute care hospital. The RN will provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, requiring recent ICU experience. The role includes floating to step-down units and other ICU units as needed, and necessitates strong collaboration skills within the interdisciplinary team.

Location : Orange, California, United States

Responsibilities :

  • Providing skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Administering medications and treatments.
  • Monitoring patient vital signs and assessing patient conditions.
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Documenting patient care accurately and comprehensively.
  • Floating to step-down units and other ICU units as needed.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean patient environment.

Required Skills & Certifications :

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Minimum of two years of recent ICU experience.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
  • Interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.

    • Preferred Skills & Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

    • Special Considerations :

  • Recent ICU experience is required.
  • The RN will be required to float between ICU and step-down units, potentially every shift.
  • Every other weekend requirement.
  • On-call duty is not required.
  • Pending licenses are not accepted.
  • RTO (Return to Office) must be included at the time of submission.
  • The facility allows for one call-off per two-week pay period.

    • Scheduling :

  • Schedule details are subject to manager discretion, potentially accommodating block schedules. Every other weekend is required.
