Lead Network Security Engineer

Overview : SimVentions, a company recognized as one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is seeking an experienced network security professional to enhance our team! In this crucial role as a Lead Network Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for every aspect of network security, including designing, implementing, configuring, and enforcing security controls on hardware and software components of network devices. You will work closely with cybersecurity experts to ensure effective defense and accreditation of systems.

Note : This position is contingent upon the award of a contract anticipated in December of 2025.

Clearance : An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required for this role. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a clearance.

Requirements :

• Comprehensive understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies
• Strong communication skills for clear and concise written and oral presentations
• MUST possess one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications :
• CASP+ CE
• CCNP Security
• CISA
• CISSP (Associate)
• CISSP
• GCED
• GCIH
• CCSP

At least ten (10) years of professional experience in the following areas :

Additionally, candidates should possess a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.

Education : A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required.

Compensation : Compensation at SimVentions is influenced by various factors, including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and company policies. Projected annual compensation for this position ranges from $110,000 to $170,000 (USD).
