ReForge Engineer II

ReForge work is generally independent yet highly collaborative. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of Altec’s engineering and manufacturing processes and capabilities to support the vision of ReForge. This position will focus on scoping / designing option groups and working with outsourced engineering companies for implementation. They will be developing some options from the ground-up while fine-tuning others. Customer First - Enjoyment of Work - Family- Financial Stability - Integrity - People Are Our Greatest Strength - Quality - Spiritual Development - Teamwork Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted Qualifications ABET EAC-certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR Master of Science in Engineering from a college that offers ABET EAC-certified BS degrees OR Active PE license in the United States External candidates - Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an engineering role after meeting the above education requirementsApplicable Masters counts as one year of experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying. Strongly Prefer 2+ years of experience with the following.Mechanical and / or electrical and / or hydraulic system design. Fluency (day-to-day) in AWC and SWIM. Creating parts according to Altec manufacturing and design standards. Engineering outsourcing groups. Preferred previous Altec Engineering experience. SolidWorks skills preferred. The ability to analyze technical requirements (customer) and communicate and translate those requirements into a final solution. Quote to Delivery process knowledge preferred. Must effectively interact with other associates, departments, operations, distributors, vendors, customers, etc. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying. Motivated, goal-oriented, and persistent, with a high level of initiative and works very well in a team environment. Works with minimal direction, is a skilled decision-maker, and has a track record of finishing work. Responsibilities Document feature requirements for guided selling, location, installation, and functionality. Develop packages of work to be outsourced and coordinate with all aspects of Altec to ensure implementation of packages will integrate with up and downstream processes and tools. Other project tasks as needed to bring REFORGE to completion. Think through a design as it interfaces or relates to multiple other designs or features (Feature-based design rather than truck-based design). This applies to both the selection of purchased parts and Altec-designed parts. The candidate may be called upon to step out of REFORGE duties to temporarily support other functions as needed by Altec (such as support Apps, Body, Product, Operations, etc.).
