Process Safety Director / PSM
Purpose and Scope / General Summary : We are seeking a Process Safety Director to join the Fed Beef team. This role plays a key leadership position in overseeing and developing the safety, compliance, and operational standards related to boiler and refrigeration systems.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain safety programs, documentation, and records in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Conduct daily inspections of operations such as production, plant maintenance, and material storage to ensure compliance.
- Support B / E teams in developing safe and efficient boiler and refrigeration system operations across Fed Beef and Rendering facilities.
- Oversee refrigeration and boiler capital projects and manage long-term capital planning and 5-year strategic initiatives.
- Assist with investigations of injuries and near-miss incidents occurring during 2nd shift and communicate findings to the Safety Manager.
- Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and emergency / Haz-Mat equipment and chemical storage areas.
- Develop and implement safety programs, provide training, conduct facility inspections, and ensure proper fire protection and equipment functionality.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions, utilizing knowledge in industrial processes, safety standards, mechanics, and psychology.
- Ensure facility compliance with federal and state safety regulations and provide recommendations as needed.
- Coordinate and escort agency personnel conducting audits related to safety, fire, and physical security.
- Evaluate new health and safety developments and assess their applicability to plant operations.
- Stay current on evolving federal and state safety legislation.
- Promote employee involvement in safety, health, and environmental initiatives.
- This role requires 75-80% travel and extended stays at various facilities.
- Relocation will be required to support operations from a designated central location.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 5-7 years of relevant experience in Process Safety Management preferred.Prior experience with refrigeration and boiler systems is preferred.Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.Compensation & Benefits :
