Required : Associate degree in a related field with three (3) years of experience in waste handling, nuclear operations, or industrial training. Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of relevant experience. Familiarity with DOE O 426.2 and experience in instructional design and adult learning principles. Equivalency : Any equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience as approved by the Human Resources Department.

Salary Range : $50,439.41 - $56,744.59 DOE

Purpose and Scope :
SENMC is seeking a qualified Waste Handling Instructor to support the safe and compliant handling of transuranic (TRU) waste. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance through structured training programs aligned with DOE Order 426.2.
The ideal candidate will bring prior experience at a DOE facility or nuclear site, along with a solid understanding of radiological safety and TRU waste handling procedures. A Certified Instructor or Trainer credential is highly valued to ensure high-quality delivery of both classroom and field-based training. Proficiency in a learning management system (LMS) will be key to developing, tracking, and enhancing training programs. This position plays a critical role in preparing personnel to meet rigorous safety and operational standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
