Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,876 per week in Morgantown, WV

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Stepdown Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Hours Experience : 1.5-2 years License : Active RN License Certifications : BCLS, ACLS Must-Have : - Ability to read telemetry strips - Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical / Telemetry - Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown nursing Description : Candidates will provide care in a stepdown unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1 : 4 and may flex to 1 : 5 in emergencies. Expect to work some weekends and weekdays. The unit cares for patients with varying acuity. Most patients are cardiac-related or have undergone cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and central line care / management. Experience with procedures such as phlebotomy and post-operative care is preferred. Candidates need to be proficient in managing various cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias. Wound care and use of rapid response / code teams are also essential skills for this position. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and teamwork skills. Candidates must commit to policies regarding holiday requests. All certifications should be current and obtained through recognized organizations.
