Warehouse Receiving Material Handling

Position Summary

This position is responsible for receiving storing and distributing materials within the warehouse and production areas maintaining accurate inventory records and upholding the companys 5S safety and quality standards. The Material Handler operates various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to support daily production and shipping operations.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document daily forklift inspection checklists prior to equipment use.
• Immediately report any forklift malfunctions damage or safety concerns to the lead person supervisor and / or maintenance team.
• Comply with all safety environmental and quality policies and standards.
• Ability to safely operate sit-down (forward fork and side-to-side) and stand-up (side-to-side) forklifts in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Move units and materials from staging areas to designated production or shipping areas safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments safely and efficiently.
• Transfer units and materials between locations using the company system and RF scanners to maintain accurate inventory tracking.
• Combine and consolidate carts or pallets to maximize warehouse space and ensure cart availability for production.
• Return empty carts pallets and containers to assigned locations for reuse.
• Report material shortages product damage or inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of required logs checklists and records.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new team members on proper material handling and safety procedures.
• Support a culture of accountability teamwork and operational excellence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by lead person supervisors or manager to support overall department goals.

Physical Requirements

At YKK AP America Inc. pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.06 to $19.04 depending on experience skills and qualifications.
