Sr. Electrical Test Technician

Saber Power Services seeks a skilled and experienced Sr. Electrical Test Technician to join our team. This role involves performing testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage substation equipment to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical power systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical testing and maintenance, as well as extensive knowledge of industry standards, including NETA, IEEE, and NFPA. Successful candidates will be place in Technician I - Senior Technician titles commiserate with their certification and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following :
Protective relaying and relaying systems
Circuit BreakersPower TransformersCurrent and Potential TransformersMeters, Transducers, and Power system meteringPower CablesGrounding SystemsMotors and Motor StartersStation Batteries and ChargersAlarm systems and AnnunciatorsPersonal Protective EquipmentPerform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and / or repairsGenerate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommendedRepresent the company in a professional manner regarding communicating and interfacing with clientsCommunicate effectively with the company management team on a regular basis regarding project status and the scheduling of manpower and equipmentAlways make safety a top priority, realizing that the company has Zero Tolerance for those who do otherwisePerform other job-related duties as requested by management.Qualifications :
AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology or equivalent experience in the high voltage industryMinimum of 2+ years' experience in the high voltage industryNETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV) required .Ability to lift up 75 poundsPre-employment drug testing and random drug screenings are required.Pre-employment criminal background checkMust be able to pass a physical examMust be open to travel, with a minimum of 50%Valid driver's license required, along with a clean driving record that must be maintained.Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as well as occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.Working in a team environmentCommunicating effectively with co-workersEffective oral and written communicationsSkills :Power DB knowledge a plusBroad knowledge of electrical AC / DC fundamentals (Electrical)Broad knowledge of the major components of a substationBroad knowledge of control and protection systems (Electrical)Knowledge of high-voltage electric field theory (Electrical)Broad knowledge of electrical code and standards (NEC, NESC, and applicable IEEE and ANSI) (Electrical)Broad knowledge of civil / structural codes and standards (NESC, and applicable IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI) (Civil / Structural)Broad knowledge of the function of major electrical equipmentBroad knowledge of ground grid theory and design (Electrical)Knowledge of the types of drawings required to construct an electrical substationKnowledge of drafting standardsSafety is a Core Value with our organization.
