Truck-to-Truck Technician
Position Overview
The Truck-to-Truck Technician supports efficient, on-site logistics operations with a strong emphasis on cross-dockingmoving materials rapidly between inbound and outbound docks to minimize storage time and improve delivery speed. This hands-on role is responsible for safe equipment movement, accurate staging, and adherence to all facility and regulatory safety standards. The position plays a critical part in maintaining smooth, timely, and cost-effective yard operations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Pay : $18.00 to $20.00 an hour - Overtime as needed according to the business
Hours : 6 : 00 - 3 : 30 PM
- Safely operate yard vehicles to transfer bins, vans, trailers, and tanker trucks throughout the facility.
- Support cross-docking by quickly positioning inbound and outbound equipment at designated docks to minimize storage time and accelerate turnaround.
- Ensure wheel chocks and jack stands are properly placed and operational prior to any movement.
- Review MSDS and manifests when handling new or unfamiliar hazardous materials.
- Respond to and clean up spills following established safety procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle inspectionsincluding brakes, fuel, fluids, lights, and tire pressureto ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Accurately placard and stage equipment in accordance with permitted storage and compliance requirements.
- Maneuver vehicles safely in tight, high-traffic yard areas while adhering to speed limits and site driving rules.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience
03 years of experience in a driving, yard, or logistics support role.Certifications
Valid driver's license required.Forklift certification preferred.Skills
Strong spatial awareness and sound decision-making with minimal supervision.Mechanically inclined with a strong safety mindset.Ability to plan and execute tasks efficiently in time-sensitive environments.Physical Requirements
Medium work : frequent lifting / carrying up to 25 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.Frequent sitting, walking, bending, climbing, and use of hands / feet for vehicle operation.Must pass a respirator fit test and work safely in outdoor conditions.Driving Requirements
Operate cars, small and large trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions within the yard.Support vehicle movement required for real-time dock scheduling.Work Environment
