Network Engineer, Wired

Job Summary

The Network Engineer, Wired will play a crucial role in the Network Services team within Infrastructure Services to support the design, implementation, optimization, administration, and technical documentation of all wired network infrastructure. The Network Engineer, Wired will work to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of all wired network solutions. The Network Engineer, Wired will participate in the resolution of complex technical issues in a timely manner while delivering best-in-class wired service support across UCSF. This role will conduct day-to-day network engineering and technical support for wired network infrastructure to ensure that systems are operating at peak efficiency with little to no downtime.

The Network Engineer, Wired will positively impact UCSF's operations and culture by ensuring UCSF's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of UCSF's academic mission. This team member will advance UCSF's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across stakeholders. This role will execute the University's vision while modeling UCSF's culture and values.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
