Board Certified Music Therapist MT-BC Memory Care Accredited Music Therapy Bachelors AND / OR Masters of Mental Health Counseling- Music Therapy The role pays- Negotiable based on experience. We currently have Full Time opportunities. Job Description TheMusic Therapist organizes and implements programs designed to meet the individual needs ofour residents. Also providing quality verbal and non-verbal enrichment programs with the influence of art, music, and movement for residents in our assisted living and memory care neighborhood. The role would include expanding the diverse definition of each wellness activity to meet residents where they are to enhance quality of life. The Music Therapist will help to create a team consisting of expressive therapies interns to collaborate in building a spectrum of therapeutic approaches designed to meet one or all of the 6 Dimensions of Wellness for our diverse population. Coordinating, overseeing, implementing and evaluating community programming to enhance resident’s experience, while developing and cultivating relationships with current residents, families and with community organizations Overseeing scheduling of events, trips, meetings, rooms, and group functions Developing, promoting, coordinating and overseeing community events Editing, producing and distributing a monthly community newsletter Requirements Must have bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in knowledge of aging and dementia. Must be qualified by experience and training to develop a robust calendar of programs for elders and persons with dementia. Possess current CPR if required. Flexible Schedule- willing to work on weekends and holidays.
