Title - Warehouse and Material Handling Manager

Job Summary
The Warehouse and Material Handling Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of receiving, shipping, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse layout optimization. This role involves developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and KPIs for the warehouse department. The manager ensures clean, organized, and efficient warehouse operations, supporting smooth product flow into production while driving process improvements and cost efficiencies. Collaboration with warehouse staff, purchasing, production, and QA teams is essential to maintain workflow effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews for warehouse personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely processing of inbound shipments with a 24-hour turnaround.
- Align warehouse staffing with production schedules to avoid delays and meet material needs.
- Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
- Develop and refine warehouse control procedures to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Utilize WMS and analytics tools to monitor inventory turnover, trends, and valuation; provide recommendations based on data.
- Collaborate with production to ensure continuous and efficient inventory flow.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff in SOPs, safety practices, and technology use.
- Design warehouse layout for optimal space utilization and material flow.
- Hire, onboard, and motivate staff to build an engaged and efficient team.
- Ensure compliance with all warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations.
- Communicate inventory and receiving status clearly to stakeholders and provide insights to reduce risk and improve processes.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and warehouse layout optimization.Strong leadership experience managing warehouse or inventory-related teams.Proficiency in WMS and other inventory management software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities.Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe warehousing practices.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Other Requirements
