Description : The Registered Nurse will provide care to pediatric patients. The nurse will be responsible for cardiac observation and post-surgical observation. Skills in remote monitoring and starting IVs are required. Experience in cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias is preferred. Knowledge of heparin protocols, phlebotomy, and use of nasal cannula is valued. The nurse will be involved in infection prevention and wound assessment / care. Pediatric dosage calculations and the use of pediatric early warning scores are also required. The unit consists of a daily census of approximately 5 patients.
