Position Details
Description of Duties
The Special Education Teacher evaluates students and conducts Multi Evaluation Team and Individualized Education Plan meetings. The Special Education Teacher also provides direct and indirect services to students with Individualized Education Plans, including supporting the classroom teacher’s instructional efforts.
Requirements :
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education
- Possess a Michigan Certificate in Special Education / Teacher Consultant Credentials
- Demonstrated ability to engage students’ emotional intelligence and support students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles, using a trauma-informed approach
- Demonstrated ability to embody a commitment to anti-racist work and advancing community and justice in our educational system
- Demonstrated flexibility and problem solving skills in order to work as a productive team member
- Committed to creating a culture of well-being and collaboration for all students
