Summary

Energy Transfer is seeking an entry level Operations Technician at our Alto, MI location. Under general supervision of Terminal Supervisor, the Terminal Operator is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment and handling product receipt and delivery as well as the loading and unloading of railcars and trucks. In addition, the individual in this position will conduct driver orientations and enforce company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below :

• Operate a propane / butane storage terminal with rail and truck loading / unloading facilities
• Perform various tasks including, but not limited to periodic inspections of equipment, troubleshoot process related issues to submit proper work request, and complete weekly maintenance work orders
• Maintain the grounds including general maintenance, painting, mowing, snow plowing etc.
• Test system safety devices and periodic inspection / calibration of process equipment
• Conduct driver orientations and enforce company policies and procedures along with creating work permits and hazard assessments
• Comply with OSHA 1910.119 PSM regulation as it applies to the Alto operation
• Perform and document product quality testing
• Complete required computer-based training
• Ability to occasionally travel to work or field locations, and / or to attend meetings or training
• Maintain full compliance with applicable regulations
• Ensuring conformance with all policies and procedures
• Operating in accordance with industry performance standards
• Promoting environmental awareness and responsibility to minimize our operational footprint
• Participating in training and development programs
• Continually seeking to improve our safety and environmental performance
• Reporting unsafe work practices
