About the Opportunity
Futura Energy Group is recruiting on behalf of an innovative energy technology client developing next-generation reactor systems for clean fuel production. They are seeking a Methane Reactor Design Engineer to lead design maturation and scale production of a proprietary thermocatalytic reactor. This is a high-impact, hands-on role ideal for an engineer passionate about building real-world energy hardware with global potential.
Role Overview
You will take full responsibility for advancing the design and deployment of a methane reactor system—refining mechanical, thermal, and fluid components for manufacturability and scale. With initial proof-of-concept systems already built and tested, your focus will be driving the transition from development to repeatable, field-ready production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and development of a low-cost, scalable methane reactor
- Deliver multiple operational reactor units by 2025
- Refine and optimize all mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems
- Prioritize manufacturability and scale-readiness in all design decisions
- Own delivery from design and prototyping through supply chain and deployment
- Conduct and participate in internal technical reviews to drive design integrity and iteration
- Evaluate and source key components for rapid prototyping and scaled builds
- Support recruitment and mentorship for the broader engineering team
