Transportation Manager, San Francisco

UOVO, the nation’s leading storage and services provider for art, archives, and collectibles seeks a Transportation Manager to join its dynamic and growing team.

UOVO seeks a full-time Transportation Manager to manage South San Francisco - based art transport operations, personnel and fleet management program. The ideal candidate will have strong people management, communication, logistics and transportation management skills. Should have prior experience working in South San Francisco art services and transportation industries; in addition, will be comfortable creating and overseeing the efficient operations for UOVO’s trucking fleet and staff. The Transportation Manager will report to South San Francisco's Director of Operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage Transportation Department personnel, enforcing best practices, superior technical skills and client satisfaction
• Proactively mentor and manage transport team technical managers and department personnel for development and growth, streamlined communication and team development
• Establish and track efficiency metrics for UOVO’s Transport Department, highlighting labor hours, billable hours of department and expenses
• Enforce and train metrics department-wide to establish maximum efficiency within UOVO’s trucking fleet
• Research and develop efficient load planning techniques, trucking routes and overall fleet management improvements
• Manage overarching Fleet Management Program, including maintenance program, DOT regulations and compliance, ELD logs, equipment and vendor support
• Monitor dispatch to optimize efficient planning, real-time updates and tracking of daily truck deliveries, collections and offsite art installations
• Work in conjunction with Client Services and Technical Operations Staff to project plan for complex offsite installations, including the coordination of site visits
• Assist on ad hoc projects and duties as required
• Adhere to all company policies and ethical standards

Qualifications & Skills

This in-person position requires on-site presence at UOVOs South San Francisco facility five days a week with occasional trips to UOVOs Livermore location and requests to work nights and on weekends as needed
