Job Title : RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 07 : 00 AM - 07 : 30 PM Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : 2 years License : RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : - Candidates must prepare by studying telemetry strips. - A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week of the assignment. - Successful completion of this test is required to work in the telemetry / med surg unit. Description : Delivers care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates care with other health team members. Interacts effectively with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical / surgical, adult, and telemetry. Positions are available on medical / surgical units and telemetry units. Estimated work week consists of 36 hours. Floating to non-critical care inpatient units may be required, including the emergency department if there are boarded patients. Critical care experience may result in occasional floating to critical care units. Every other weekend rotation is mandatory. The system used for electronic medical records is Cerner. Telemetry ratios are currently 1 : 4 on days and 1 : 5 on nights. Medical / surgical ratios are currently 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights.
