Medical Director - Skilled Nursing Facility (Part-Time)

Specialty :  Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Location :  Statesville, NC (covering 2 nearby nursing homes)

Schedule :  Part-time, 3 days / week (6-8 hours per day)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced  Medical Director (MD / DO)  with a background in  Internal Medicine or Family Medicine  to oversee clinical care at  two skilled nursing facilities in Statesville, NC . The role is part-time, with coverage spread across 3 days per week (1 day at one facility and 2 days at the other).

This opportunity is ideal for a physician interested in  post-acute care leadership  and dedicated to improving patient outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and oversight for  two skilled nursing facilities  (close proximity).

Cover  3 days per week  (typically 6-8 hours per day).

Ensure high-quality patient care, compliance, and best practices in post-acute / long-term care.

Collaborate with nursing staff, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and clinical program development.

Handle  rapid responses and codes .

No procedures required  - focus on patient care.

Work in an  open ICU setting .

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an  accredited medical school .

Board Certified / Board Eligible  in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

Active and valid  North Carolina medical license .

Experience in post-acute or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
