Locum Tenens Opportunity for Hepatologist near Haynesville, VA

  • Open Dates :

March 22-23 (Fri-Sun, Fri-Sat, Sat-Sun, or only Sat)

  • May 18-19
  • June 14-23

    • Job Details :

  • Reason for Coverage : To provide inpatient coverage when the incumbent is away for vacation
  • Practice Setting : Hospital-based
  • Schedule : Cover GI Hepatology inpatient calls / consults - no outpatient
  • Call Ratio : 1 : 1 for Hepatology only
  • Onsite Facilities : Labs & X-ray available
  • Patient Population : Adult
  • No outpatient or internal medicine required
  • Average Number of Office / Clinic Patients Per Locum Per Day : 10
  • Average Number of Hospital-Based Patients Per Locum Per Day : 10
  • Providers in Group : 1 MD w / 4 APCs
  • EMR : EPIC
  • Trauma Level : Level III

    • Job Duties / Requirements :

  • Procedures :

    • Liver Biopsy

  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Upper GI Endoscopy : with Biopsy, with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser), Diagnostic
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe : 120 days for full privileges

    • Submission Requirements :

  • Board Certified - REQUIRED
  • Active VA license & DEA - Preferred
  • BLS & ACLS Certified - REQUIRED
  • Flu Vaccine - REQUIRED at the time of credentialing
  • COVID Vaccine - PREFERRED

    Description

    We are actively seeking a Hepatologist for locum inpatient coverage near Haynesville, VA, for various open dates in 2024.

  • Reason for Coverage : The need arises to provide inpatient coverage during the incumbent's vacation periods.
  • Practice Setting : Hospital-based with a focus on GI Hepatology inpatient calls / consults.
  • Schedule : Flexibility in covering weekends and specific dates.
  • Patient Load : You'll be handling an average of 10 patients per day, with no outpatient or internal medicine responsibilities.
  • Provider Team : Join a collaborative team consisting of 1 MD and 4 APCs.
  • EMR System : Utilizing EPIC for comprehensive electronic medical records.
  • Trauma Level : The facility holds a Level III Trauma designation.

    • Procedures and Requirements :

  • Engage in essential procedures like Liver Biopsy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and Upper GI Endoscopy.
  • Board certification is a mandatory requirement, and proficiency in the mentioned procedures is expected.
  • The credentialing process is estimated to take 120 days for full privileges.

  • Active VA license and DEA are preferred.
  • BLS & ACLS certification is a must.
  • Flu vaccine is required at the time of credentialing, and COVID vaccine is preferred.
