About The Position

Job Title : FLOAT RN

Shift : 7p-7a

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Must have completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment

License : Current NY license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS required

Must-Have :

• Meditech experience required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills

Description :

This position requires a FLOAT RN to provide nursing care to various patient populations.

Common patient diagnoses include septic, COPD, CHF, post-operative conditions, and general medical-surgical patients.

The RN will manage required drips and medications such as heparin drips and magnesium and potassium riders.

The position involves a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 5-6.

The FLOAT RN will be expected to function well in stressful situations and exhibit creative problem-solving skills.

The ability to assess and implement safe patient handling and lifting techniques is essential.

This role may involve assuming duties as a charge nurse.

The RN must possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and be able to provide quality patient care while addressing clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs.

Recognizing safety issues for oneself and others is crucial in this position.
