American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (IMC / general onsite telemetry) night shift position requiring an active IL RN license, ACLS, and BLS.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the PCU / IMC unit within an acute care hospital and Level I trauma centerPatient population includes cardiac, telemetry, post-cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, and neurological casesAverage daily census is 38 patientsShifts are 3x12 or 4x12 nights (1845-0715), with every other weekend requiredCandidates will float to like units and possibly affiliate hospitals as neededCardiac monitoring and telemetry (unit and remote) requiredCerner EMR used and prior Cerner experience is requiredResponsibilities include caring for acute and complex patients across a range of specialties and managing telemetry equipmentSupports team environment in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospitalCardiac emergency response skills and post-procedure care requiredFirst-time travelers are acceptedMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assigned during contractNo radius requirement for locals; both local and travel candidates acceptedUp to 5 non-holiday days off can be auto-approved; more requires approvalSolid color scrubs requiredParking permit provided at no cost\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum 2 years of recent MS / Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown experience requiredCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross (RQI cards not accepted)Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac care, sheath removal, TR band, and feeding tube careExperience with IV therapy, central / arterial / PICC line management and blood product administrationAbility to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and titrate dripsExperience with respiratory support including CPAP / BIPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and chest tubesExperience required with CVA, wound care, isolation precautions, surgical drains, and pre / post hemodialysisCerner EMR experience requiredMust not have been a permanent or PRN employee at Memorial within the past 12 months\n Benefits\n
