Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NM or compact license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a large acute care, Level I Trauma, and teaching hospital

Patient ratios are 1 : 2

Care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, with floating to antepartum and postpartum units as needed

Specialized procedures include cerclage, version, cesarean section, postpartum tubal ligation (PPTL), external and internal monitoring, AROM, medically assisted deliveries, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, nitrous, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia management

Night shift (4x12 hours, 19 : 00-7 : 30) with on-call requirements : 12 or 24 hours per 4 weeks depending on schedule

Charting is completed using Cerner EMR

Purple scrubs are provided

Primary responsibilities include caring for patients through labor, delivery, and recovery, as well as supporting neonatal patients

Must be able to float to antepartum and postpartum units within scope of practice

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius

Requests for more than 7 days of time off require approval

Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Team-oriented environment with support for complex cases

No parking fee for staff

Requirements

Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a large L&D unit

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NRP (NRP must be in hand for consideration)

Experience with circulating and fetal heart monitoring (FHM) required

Proficiency with postpartum, baby nurse, meconium deliveries, and advanced L&D procedures

COVID-19 vaccination required (religious or medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation)
