Position Summary
As an Occupational Therapist , you will play a crucial role in providing direct rehab care to patients based on physician referrals. Your expertise will guide our patients on their recovery journeys while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Your impact will be profound!
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
NBCOT Certification : Must be certified upon hire; renewal is optional thereafter.Degree : Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).Licensure : Must be currently registered / licensed in the applicable state and maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.Experience : One year of experience in post-acute care or a related setting is preferred.CPR Certification : Required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation; must remain current during employment.Specific Job Requirements
Engage in community health projects as appropriate.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to meet patient needs.Demonstrate excellent body mechanics at all times.Make independent decisions when necessary.Stay informed about practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care.Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, and policies.Maintain professional relationships with all associates and vendors.Uphold confidentiality of all proprietary information.Adhere to company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following Life Care’s Code of Conduct .Essential Functions
Follow and implement occupational treatment plans for patients.Establish, assess, and modify realistic and functional goals.Oversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students.Document care appropriately and in a timely manner.Utilize therapy software accurately.Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.Assist in patient evacuation when necessary.Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance.Utilize reasoning skills and good judgment in all situations.Communicate effectively and work productively within an interdisciplinary team.Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking during working hours.Read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.Join us in making a difference!
