Multi-Cloud Engineer (Crossplane | DevSecOps | Top Secret)

Location : Charlottesville, VA or Arlington, VA (Hybrid | a few days per month onsite)

Clearance : Active Top Secret (SCI Eligible)

Remote Flexibility : Exceptional candidates with AWS / Azure + Crossplane expertise may be considered for full remote work

About the Role :

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SME) with 10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud automation, and DevSecOps to help design and implement secure, scalable, and compliant multi-cloud systems.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role - you'll architect, automate, and influence secure solutions that meet the highest standards for reliability and compliance (RMF, ATO, FedRAMP).

What You'll Do

Architect and implement secure, scalable multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Design and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Crossplane.

Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation frameworks.

Develop and support applications using Python, Go, or JavaScript for cloud-native environments.

Implement and maintain compliance controls (RMF, ATO, FedRAMP) across infrastructure and code pipelines.

Collaborate with engineering teams to drive automation, scalability, and operational excellence.

Mentor engineers and champion best practices in cloud architecture and security.

What You Bring

10+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in cloud, DevSecOps, and automation.

Strong proficiency with Terraform, Crossplane, and Infrastructure as Code.

Experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP multi-cloud environments.

Proficiency with Python and scripting tools (Bash, YAML, JSON).

Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security fundamentals.

Familiarity with RMF, ATO, and FedRAMP compliance frameworks.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd), or microservices architecture.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

AWS or Azure certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
