Job Description
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the review and reconciliation of project timecards before the weekly pay run. This role involves preparing and reviewing weekly payroll, including data entry of payroll information and associated reporting, as needed. The Payroll Administrator will also prepare daily off-cycle checks, which may include retroactive pay, perform historical corrections, process expense reports, and handle payroll inquiries from team members via phone or email. Additionally, the role serves as a liaison for project teams and handles unemployment earnings requests, setup, salary updates, and termination of craft payroll team members. The position requires effective collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels and includes additional payroll duties such as union reporting, reconciliation, completing garnishments, and updating child support.
Responsibilities
Review and reconcile project timecards before the weekly pay run.
Prepare and review weekly payroll, including data entry of payroll information.
Prepare daily off-cycle checks, including retroactive pay as needed.
Perform historical corrections and process expense reports.
Research and resolve payroll inquiries from team members via phone or email.
Serve as payroll team member liaison for project teams.
Complete unemployment earnings requests.
Handle setup, salary updates, and termination of craft payroll team members.
Manage additional payroll duties such as union reporting, reconciliation, garnishments, and updating child support.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Associate's degree with 3+ years of payroll experience.
Proficiency in Excel, including data views, graphing, and pivot tables.

Work Environment
This position requires working in-office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with the option to work from home on Wednesday and Friday. The team operates between 7 AM and 5 PM, and employees can start their day between 7 AM and 8 AM. This role is hourly, with compensation for any hours worked over 40 in a week. The shared service location houses the majority of Accounting, Finance, and Payroll functions, with over 6,000 employees. The payroll department consists of 12+ members divided into three teams responsible for different functions, including Workforce Management / Timekeeping and standard Payroll Processing. The office is modern and spacious, with ongoing upgrades to corporate sites. The company fosters a good culture with team-building activities and outings. Payroll is processed in-house for virtually every state in the US, and there are three Payroll Managers reporting to a Director of Finance Operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $45.00 / hr.
