Loreto is looking for a Pastry Cook to join the team! We’re an upscale-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes inspired by the fresh ingredients from the Baja coast. We are a full bar restaurant with specialty cocktails and a curated wine selection. Mariscos Za Za Zá is our counter-service lunch concept at the same location.
We’re currently prioritizing applicants with full availability, weekend open a must. This position will start with around 4 morning shifts a week.
Responsibilities :
- Support Executive Chef in prepping, making, and plating pastry menu items
- Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to standards
- Understand and apply the correct use of kitchen equipment with respect to safety and maintenance
- Ensure pastry items are made and maintained to highest quality to serve to guests
- Responsible for pastry dish presentation at pastry expo
- Support Executive Chef with pastry inventory, and actively involved in maintaining and restocking of necessary ingredients / items
- Proficient with and adhere to food safety regulations
- Adhere to dress code policy in addition to following good personal hygiene habits
- Work with a sense of urgency
- Follow all guidelines in the Kitchen Manual
Qualifications :
Valid Food Handler’s certificate preferred2+ years work experience in fine dining and / or high-volume establishment preferred.1+ year of work experience with pastry in a high volume restaurant or bakery preferred.Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.Be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.Compensation :
18 - $20 hourly wage based on experienceEstimated additional tips around $20-50+ a week.
