Job Requirements : This position will be posted until filled. This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks assisting second shift mechanics and continuing Streets division responsibilities as needed during second shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Perform specific daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance duties at the Public Works facility such as sweeping / cleaning floors, removing garbage and debris, cleaning equipment and work areas, etc.
• Assist Public Works mechanics by running for parts and assisting with repairs
• Secure buildings, vehicles, and machinery nightly
• Assist Police Department with accidents and road closures. Set out and collect road signs when needed
• Wash and grease equipment
• Push up piles at Yard Waste site
• Plow parking lot and keep all doors free of snow in winter
• Street sweeping as needed
• Monitor weather and respond to deteriorating road conditions as needed

Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

Other Experience and Qualifications :

Ability to safely use the following equipment : leaf blower, leaf pusher, floor sweeper, brush chipper, jack hammer, and chain saw. Ability to safely operate single axle trucks and end loader. Ability to learn the safe and efficient operation of conventional and specialized vehicles and construction equipment typically used in a municipal public works department. Ability to do manual labor which would include being able to frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
