Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Kerrville, TX 78028 (Texas Hill Country – near San Antonio)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Unit : Women's Services – Labor & Delivery

Start Date : December 22, 2025

End Date : March 23, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (06 : 45 – 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1820 - $1870

Floating : Required to float to Medical / Surgical units as needed

Facility Housing : Available for travel nurses

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required

Preferred : Experience with Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum couplet care

Certifications : ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (AHA certifications required)

Experience with Centricity charting system preferred

Ability to float to Medical / Surgical units as part of the rotation

COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Must be available to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays during contract

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care

Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and vaginal births

Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation

Administer medications such as antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and pain management agents

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and internal monitoring devices

Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers

Float to Medical / Surgical units and provide patient care as assigned

Document all care in the Centricity electronic health record system

Participate in discharge teaching and patient education for parents
