Job description

Position : EDI Developer

Location : Remote

Duration : Contract

Job Description :

  • They are currently using Gentran for windows (older version) and will need a technical resource to supplement their team for volume of EDI development work.
  • Main Responsibility will be onboarding new EDI trading Partners.
  • The EDI standards used will be X12, EDIFACT and TRADACOMS.
  • Must be able to work in a Gentran Server for Windows environment.
  • Candidate must be able to do the end-to-end testing from AS2 system then into Gentran system and interface transaction with Oracle Applications system.
  • Must be fluent with a minimum of the following transaction sets.
  • Inbound 850, 860, 945 and outbound 855, 810, 940 and 856 transactions.
  • During implementations candidate will serves as lead for all communication between internal users, external trading partners, and external EDI network providers during Implementations.
  • Responsible for advanced troubleshooting with trading partners to solve AS2 / VAN communication issues.
  • It will be fully expected that the candidate can “Hit the ground running” with a minimal amount of ramp up and training from the existing EDI core team.
  • Candidate must have good written and communication skills so to interface with Internal and external customers and be detail oriented.
  • It would be a plus to understand the Agile methodology and be able to participate in Jira sprints.

Core Accountabilities : Key Outputs and Measurements

KEY OUTPUT / TASK ONE :

  • Implementation of EDI interfaces with our trading Partners.
  • Leverages EDI knowledge and best practices to develop EDI Processes with full use of Gentran Server for Windows.
  • Full Cycle EDI testing of Installed Interfaces within EDI and Oracle Applications ERP systems.
  • Install electronic transaction interfaces with customers, suppliers, and 3rd party business partners like SPS and Opentext.
  • Monitoring of newly installed EDI processes.
  • Timely completion of tasks within the development Windows defined.
  • Successfully Complete testing on new process.
  • Issue free EDI processes after Go Live.
  • Hands off process with monitoring during Go Live window.

    • KEY OUTPUT / TASK TWO :

  • EDI Data Communications system analyst
  • Monitor EDI communication system, Lansa Integrator AS2, and data flow and respond to interruptions.
  • Leverage knowledge of AS2, VAN and SFTP communication channels to Monitor EDI communication system and data flows and to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
  • Work with trading partners to implement new setups.
  • Successful and trouble-free Data transmissions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to get job done when no answers in sight.

  • Special Projects and tasks
  • Assists manager on new projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
